Phillippe

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is looking for a registered sexual offender who said he was moving to the Campbell City area but has not notified local law enforcement of his new address, as required by state law.

Mario Phillippe, 33, obtained a new driver license March 2, listing his permanent address as 5515 Willow Bend Trail, Kissimmee. Detectives in the sex offender unit tried to contact Phillippe March 15 to verify the address. However, a family member at the residence said Phillippe only visited the home, but lives in New Jersey.

Phillippe told detectives when they called that he was in the process of changing his address from Florida to New Jersey. After several weeks, detectives attempted to contact him but have not been able to find him.

Florida statute requires sexual offenders to notify law enforcement within 48 hours of establishing a new residence. Failure to do so is a third-degree felony.

According to the driver license bureau of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Phillippe's address has not changed. He was convicted of aggravated sexual assault in June 24, 1993 in Essex County, N.J.

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Office at 407-328-2222 or anonymously through Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
