A car failed to stop at a stop sign in Poinciana and crashed into a school bus Friday afternoon, injuring 10 students as well as two drivers and a bus attendant, the Polk County Sheriff's Office reported.

The driver of a Chrysler 300, Eddie Rodriguez-Rivera, failed to stop at the intersection of Hemlock Avenue and Poinciana Parkway, driving into the path of the bus. As a result of the crash, 10 students were taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, treated for minor injuries and released.

The bus attendant, 66-year-old Nilan Roberson, of Poinciana, along with the bus driver, 59-year-old Andre Pierre, also of Poinciana, were treated for minor injuries. Rodriguez-Rivera, the only occupant of the Chrysler, also was treated for minor injuries. He was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
