A father was arrested for interfering with custody after he jumped the fence of a daycare center in Kissimmee and took his 3-year-old son from the building Thursday, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported.

Zahid Saddiqi, 26, was found with the toddler a short time after he took the boy from the Fun and Learning Center, located at 2630 Martina Ave. Employees at the center told deputies Thursday morning that a stranger had entered the building after jumping the fence and took the boy. They gave specific details about the vehicle and stranger, allowing deputies to find Saddiqi.

Saddiqi told deputies the boy was his son, but the center had no record of the father. The mother verified that she was the custodial parent. Saddiqi had worked with an outside company to find his son, investigators said.

Saddiqi was charged with interfering with custody and burglary and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
