LYNX sponsoring contest for bus design

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) is sponsoring a contest for Orange, Osceola and Seminole county high school students to produce a colorful and creative bus design communicating the role transit plays in a clean environment.
The winning design will be painted on the side of a LYNX bus and will travel the fixed route service area for one year. This bus will be unveiled at the grand opening of the LYNX Biodiesel Blending Station at the LYNX Operations Center.
The winning entry will be selected by local artist Donna Dowless; Shanon Larimer, the director of City Arts Factory in downtown Orlando and Jimmie Rice from the Sam Flax Art & Design Store.

Contest rules:
• Students must be enrolled in grades 9 through 12, in Orange, Osceola or Seminole County.
• All entries must include a signed copy of registration form.
• Subject matter should reflect the positive impact transit makes on the environment. Slogans or clever phrases in the design are encouraged.
• Artwork must be original and fit the bus template provided.
• Use of previously published material is prohibited. (Example: Mickey Mouse, Superman, etc.)
• Artwork can be hand drawn or composed electronically using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop programs only. All designs must be delivered or mailed to: Debbe King, LYNX Communications Dept. 455 N. Garland Ave., Orlando, FL 32801.
• No entries will be accepted electronically.
• Deadline for entries is 5 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2010.
