Thanks for help
To the editor:
I address this letter of thanks to the many wonderful people in the Kissimmee area.
On Saturday, March 20, at about 2:30 p.m., my car broke down at the very busy intersection of John Young Parkway and Carroll Street. I was able to push the car to the side but not entirely out of traffic. Everyone was gracious in maneuvering around it with no complaints. Shortly, a beautiful young woman from Bank of America stopped to assist, took time from her day to drive me to a garage, waiting to see that I would be taken care of and to see if there was anything else she could help with.
Back at the car, awaiting the tow truck, so many kind and caring people stopped to see if they could assist. Two pretty young women and a very nice young man came across from the Mobile station to see if they could help and the young woman using her cell phone contacted an appointment I could not make.
I need to thank and let all these wonderful people know how grateful I am. It brought back memories of returning from the Pacific at war’s end and the warmth and respect and care we received from across America. I thank all of you.

Good family
To the editor:
We have been here in downtown Kissimmee for many, many years (about 30). We have seen a lot of changes happen here and met beautiful and remarkable people such as Miss Bettye Sprinkle, whom we remember with love and respect.
Michael and Donna Glancey, owners of the Dragonfly airboat business, are remarkable people who share this love for our downtown. For years they have worked hard to promote the beauty of this town. With their passion and honesty, they are truly an inspiration. They want all of the business in downtown to benefit from their work and they send a lot of people our way by promoting our beautiful historic downtown.
We asked our commissioners to consider all the pros in having Mike, Donna and their sons keep running their business and let the world know about our awesome downtown. Thank you, Mike, Donna, Sean and Jason.

Jail shame
To the editor:
Shame on the Osceola County commissioners for allowing 17 people on the jail staff to be placed on paid leave while being investigated for the escape of two prisoners, one being found.
Instead of paid leave and having to replace them with 17 others who have to be paid, give them a mop, broom or paint brush and let them work for their pay until the investigation is complete and they are either terminated or returned to active duty.

Editor’s Note: On Monday afternoon, the 17 were terminated.
