Osceola County Chairman Fred Hawkins, Jr., joined by county staff and members of the project team, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony recently to mark the commencement of improvements to Hickory Tree Community Park.
Some of the improvements will include: installation of new sod, field lighting, new bleachers, improved site grading, clean-up and enlargement of the stormwater retention pond, new parking areas, and emergency access roads.
“This was a goal of mine coming into the office,” Hawkins said. “The community waited a long time for this to happen and we are glad to finalize it. I’m also proud of the local businesses and their participation.”
The completion date is scheduled for Aug. 15.
