A man accused of burglarizing several businesses in Orange and Osceola counties by driving a stolen truck into the front of them was arrested March 18.

Omar Gonzalez-Arroyo, 31, was taken into custody by Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies who stopped a stolen vehicle as it tried to leave the scene of another burglary March 18.

Through questioning, detectives identified Gonzalez-Arroyo's involvement in four burglaries in Osceola County.

Detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office had been investigating several burglaries reported March 14 near Osceola Parkway and Michigan Avenue north of Kissimmee. Lucy's Boutique, 508 Osceola Parkway, Car Boutique, 564 E. Osceola Parkway, and Road Runner, 2982 Michigan Ave., all reported damage to their storefronts that day. The Kissimmee Police Department took a report the following day of a similar burglary at Columbia Food Mart, at 1153 W. Columbia Ave.

Three of the four businesses had property stolen. At least one took damage to the front door after a truck crashed into it, but all the buildings had damage to a front window or door.

Gonzalez-Arroyo cooperated with Osceola County detectives, telling investigators he had stolen a truck in order to commit the crimes. He was booked into Orange County Jail but will be extradited to face five counts of burglary in Osceola County.
