A pair of Poinciana siblings who are both registered felons were arrested Wednesday, accused of breaking into an area Publix through a vent in the roof and stealing cigarettes and coins from a coin exchange machine, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported.

Headie Dee Aponte, 21, and her brother, Julio Alfredo Ruiz, 35, are charged with burglary of the 841 Cypress Parkway store, along with grand theft and criminal mischief for the burglary.

A store employee told deputies, who responded to the scene at about 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, that he came to work that morning and noticed the back door was open. The manager took inventory of the story and saw cigarettes missing and the coin exchange machine broken.

The investigation revealed two suspects entered the store through a vent in the roof, took money from the coin exchange machine and cigarettes before leaving the store through the back door.

Detectives caught up with the suspects when they attempted to cash in the coins at another store. Aponte and Ruiz were arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

The siblings live in Poinciana, at 124 Alcala Drive.
