A teacher's aide at New Beginnings School was arrested Tuesday for unlawful sexual activity with a 16-year-old male student.

According to the student, he and Dellys Serrano-Rosario, 36, became friends and eventually began a sexual relationship, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported.

The victim told detectives that he tried to break off the relationship, but Serrano refused and continually sent him text messages.

School officials at New Beginnings – at 2599 W. Vine St. – first reported the allegations to Kissimmee Police Department Feb. 22. Sheriff's Office detectives took over the investigation when it was learned that the incidents took place outside of city limits.

Detectives brought Serrano in for an interview, but she refused to cooperate. Serrano, of 2580 Hunley Loop, Kissimmee, was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
