Two Osceola County young women became the newest Silver Spurs rodeo queens Tuesday night during the 50th Miss Silver Spurs Pageant, with hundreds of family members, friends and spectators looking on.

Erica Lassiter, of Kissimmee, was crowned 2010 Miss Silver Spurs at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park. Lassiter’s sponsor was Avera Quarter Horses.

Lassiter also earned the Bill Chapman Horsemanship Award, the most elite award given to the contestants.

Lassiter is supported by her new court that includes first-runner up Kristen Ramirez, second runner-up and Miss Congeniality Katherine Moore and Cassandra Todd as Miss Photogenic.

Madeline Munns, 10, of St. Cloud, was crowned the 2010 Little Miss Silver Spurs Tuesday evening as well. Her sponsor was Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A.

Serving on this year’s Little Miss Court is first runner-up Jenna Herstich, second runner-up and Little Miss Photogenic Baily Simpson and Carrie Ann Clements as Little Miss Congeniality.

The new rodeo queens are already performing their jobs promoting the 124th Silver Spurs Rodeo of Champions this weekend.
