A Kissimmee woman was arrested after reporting the theft of a purse that contained a friend's credit card, which she then used to make a $500 purchase at Super Target, Osceola County Sheriff's Office investigators said.

On the night of Feb. 10, deputies spoke with Elizabeth Jensen, 29, at her home at 2514 Hamlet Lane.

Jensen said she had left a nearby Walgreens and was walking west when a male on a skateboard grabbed her purse and fled. She told detectives that the purse contained an MP3 player, a friend's credit card and personal items.

Detectives investigating the theft discovered the credit card was used to make a $500 purchase at Super Target, some time after Jensen had reported the theft. Further investigation revealed that Jensen had made the purchase herself, detectives said.

Jensen, brought in for questioning, told detectives she had made up the robbery and discarded the purse after using the credit card at Super Target. Detectives found her purse in a nearby garbage container and the purchase she had made at her home.

Jensen was booked into the Osceola County Jail that day, charged with filing a false report.
