UPDATE, Wednesday 11:20 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the woman who died in the car crash as 57-year-old Martha Cordell Jones, of St. Cloud.

A 57-year-old St. Cloud woman was killed when her car was hit on the driver's side as she tried to turn onto U.S. Highway 192 after dropping of a friend's child at Harmony High School Tuesday morning.

The woman, whose name Florida Highway Patrol has not released pending notification of her family, was turning left from Arthur J. Gallagher Boulevard, which runs in front of Harmony High School. As she tried to turn onto U.S. Highway 192, a Jeep coming east on the highway hit her four-door Honda on its left side.

The intersection of the crash has a stoplight. A witness driving behind the woman told troopers that the traffic coming from the high school had a green light at the time of the crash. The driver of the Jeep ran a red light, the witness stated.

The woman's Honda spun clockwise after it was hit, crossing the grassy median. It stopped facing east in the westbound lane of the highway. The Jeep, driven by 24-year-old Jerri D. Bollinger, of St. Cloud, overturned after it hit the Honda and ended up on its roof.

The woman in the Honda died at the scene of the crash. Bollinger was transported to St. Cloud Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Both crash victims were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation with charges pending against Bollinger. The Florida Highway Patrol is asking any crash witnesses to call 407-737-3312.
