Where is the honesty?
To the editor:
In regards to the letter to the editor by Kris Michael O’Horo, chairman of the Osceola Democratic Executive Commit-tee, whatever that is, printed Jan. 21 in the opinion page of the Osceola News-Gazette, we are all God’s children, Mr. O’Horo? Political Democrats join with the atheists, ACLU when the issue of removing the Ten Commandments from courthouse buildings, schools, government Washington, D.C., buildings. Nativity scenes removed and disallowed on American taxpayers’ property by threats of expensive lawsuits backed by the majority, “Crat” Congress with limitless taxpayers’ money.
The purpose of your blurb was to discredit conservative radio talk show people for explaining Barack Hussein Obama’s political maneuver to send money to the White House and he would transfer our money to Haiti. Under whose name whom do you trust: The Red Cross, Salvation Army, your local church, or Barack Hussein Obama.
What business is it of yours what Rush Limbaugh donated? He is a private American citizen. How much did you donate, Mr. O’Horo, Joe Biden, Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Franken, etc. Ex-vice president Al Gore donated nothing. He and Obama blamed President George W. Bush for the disaster.
Where is the honesty? Where have all the Americans gone?

Congrats
To the editor:
I would like to add my congratulations to State Rep. Mike Horner, R-Kissimmee, on being awarded the Veterans of Foreign Wars 2010 Legislative Achievement Award.
When Mike was running for office he stated that he would be working for veterans, both active and retired and their families. True to his word, he, along with State Sen. Andy Gardiner, introduced HJR 833, which, if approved on the November 2010 General Election ballot by 60 percent of the voters, will relieve our active duty and reserves personnel deployed of some of their tax burdens.
Mike is the first freshman legislator ever to receive this award and it is much deserved for his efforts on the military’s behalf. It is now up to us veterans and citizens to support Mike’s effort and pass this important bill in November. Thank you, Mike, for your hard work.

Should we help?
To the editor:
We have a major decision to deal with today. What is it you ask? Whether we, as citizens of Central Florida, should help the people in Haiti with their disaster or help the citizens of the United States.
We are asked to send food and other supplies to Haiti for the starving people, but what about the 350,000 starving people in Central Florida who are at, or below, the poverty level? Just imagine how many millions of people in the United States could use that food and supplies.
We have been asked to send money to help rebuild their electrical output. What about the people who are living in Osceola County who have to call in to see if they can get money to pay for their electricity? This is done every month. Only a few are lucky to get this done.
They asked for millions of tents for shelter for the Haitians. Who is going to give the homeless shelter in this state or country? After all, there is a vast number of homeless people going from place to place in this country. Why not set up communities for people who are living every day in a disaster not of their choosing?
We are asked to send medicine and other items to help with their sick and elderly. What about us supplying these essentials for the citizens of this country? After all, aren’t they the ones who should derive benefits from their country? Some of these people who live on the streets and alleys should be given some sort of care from their mother country.
The country with a heart should develop a heart for all of its citizens. Don’t get me wrong, the citizens of Haiti need help, but so do the citizens of the United States. As for bringing 4,000 Haitians over here to help them, who is going to take 4,000 Americans to help to their country?
