Lynx to host workshops on service changes PDF Print E-mail

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority, or Lynx, has scheduled workshops in the area to introduce proposed service changes, including those in Osceola County.

Changes to Link 26, 50, 125, 426, 434 and PickUp Lines 601, 602 and 612 will be discussed as will the discontinuance of Link 442 and the addition of PickUpLine 641.

Following the workshops, the Lynx board of directors will vote on the proposal at their next scheduled meeting on Thursday, March 25. If the proposal is passed, the changes would become effective Sunday, April 25. Workshops include the following:

• Tuesday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Lynx Central Station, second-floor Meeting Room, 455 N. Garland Ave., Orlando. Any link with the destination as LCS goes to the station. Parking is available in a lot on the corner of Amelia Street and Garland Avenue.

• Wednesday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Osceola Square Mall, 3831 W. Vine St., Kissimmee. Lynx service available via Link 4, 10, 26, 55, 56, 57 and 426. Ample parking will be available.

• Thursday, Feb. 11, 9-11 a.m., Poinciana Community Center, 397 Marigold Ave., Poinciana. Lynx service available via Link 26, 426 and PickUpLine 601. Ample parking will be available.

• Thursday, Feb. 18, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Poinciana Community Center, 397 Marigold Ave., Poinciana. Lynx service available via Link 26, 426 and PickUpLine 601.

The public comment period began Monday and comments will be accepted at all public workshops. Additional public comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. March 10, at www.golynx.com or mailed or delivered to: Lynx Central Station, 455 N. Garland Ave. Orlando.

Interested parties also may view the proposed service change information at the Lynx Central Station first-floor Security Guard Post from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Adjusted service changes that would impact Osceola County include:

• Link 26, Pleasant Hill Road/Poinciana, eliminate southern loop by realigning route to terminate at Poinciana Walmart via Doverplum Avenue, with service extended to Osceola Regional Medical Center.

• Link 426, Pleasant Hill Road/Poinciana, will become the Poinciana Circulator by extending the southern loop to include Coyote Road, Gazelle Drive and Tiger Road.

• PickUpLine 601, south Poinciana, will merge with PickUpLine 602.

• PickUpLine 602, north Poinciana, will merge with PickUpLine 601.
