Individual game tickets for Houston Astros spring training games at Osceola County Stadium are now on sale through the box office (open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily) and by phone (1-800-745-3000) and online through Ticketmaster (ticketmaster.com).
Prices are unchanged from last year: $22 for Dugout Box Seats, $20 for Outfield Box, $18 for Upper Reserved and $15 for Outfield Reserved.
Tickets are $3 more for premium games featuring the Boston Red Sox (March 16), St. Louis Cardinals (22nd), and the Philadelphia Phillies (30th).
The game on March 20 against the World Series champion New York Yankees sold out its seating areas on Saturday. $10 standing room tickets will be available the morning of the game.
Osceola Heritage Park Sports Facilities Manager Pete Rodriguez is excited about the schedule.
“We hardly get the Red Sox up here, and it’s during the week of Spring Break back in Houston. We hope to be busy that week,” he said.
New this year is the six-game “Bagwell Weekend Plan,” featuring a game against the World Champion New York Yankees on March 20, and two games against the Atlanta Braves (March 6 and 14). It also includes games against the Washington Nationals (13th), New York Mets (21st) and Tampa Bay Rays (27th).
All ticket packages come with guaranteed same seating and free parking. The Bagwell plan and season tickets are available through the stadium at 321-697-3201, and have been since before Christmas.
“Some people were able to get those as gifts, so we were able to start our tickets push early,” Rodriguez said. “Spring training baseball is a great sports product for our residents and out-of-town guests. Osceola County Stadium is the best place to watch the games and we are very pleased at the response to these value-added offers.”
On the field, the Astros will debut their new manager, former Red Sox bench coach Brad Mills.
Third baseman Pedro Feliz and starting pitcher Brett Myers signed as free agents from the two-time National League champion Phillies, and the back end of the bullpen will feature newcomers Brandon Lyon (from Detroit) and Matt Lidstrom (Florida Marlins) spending the spring fighting for the closer’s role.
