An explosion in a west Kissimmee motel, which gave second- and third-degree burns to one of two suspects running from the third-floor room, proved to be a meth lab, the Osceola Sheriff's Office reported.

Witnesses said the loud explosion happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21. Deputies found the two suspects running from the Carefree Inn & Suites, at 4900 W. U.S. Highway 192, just east of the motel.

John Park, 27, of Carrollton, Ga., was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and booked into the Osceola County Jail after he was treated for minor burns.

Charges are pending for 28-year-old Danny Tarver, also from Carrollton, who was taken to the Osceola Regional Medical Center for his more serious burns and later to Shands Hospital in Gainesville for more extensive treatment.

Agents with the Osceola County Investigative Bureau dismantled the meth lab and continue to investigate the incident. They are looking for Jessica Denney, Tarver's girlfriend, and considered a person of interest in the case.

Denney and Tarver were both involved in the investigation of a meth lab found in a hotel room in Mississippi. The two suspects were out on bond for charges in that case.

Anyone with information on Denney should call the Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

This is the second meth lab found in Osceola County this year. In 2009, agents investigated 15 meth labs in the county.
