You need JavaScript enabled to view it In an effort to keep you informed and provide you with helpful resources about criminals who commit sexual offenses, Thursday’s newspaper featured our community’s fourth comprehensive publication that provides information about sex offenders and predators living in Osceola County.
Compiled by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and published by the Osceola News Gazette, the booklet was created to help you become more familiar with offenders and predators who live in our neighborhoods.
Florida law requires sexual offenders and predators to register with local law enforcement when they move into a community.  We work very hard to keep track of these offenders and predators and ensure they are following the law, but it is important for all citizens to help us protect our children.
Grouped by ZIP code, this publication includes a list of the sexual offenders and predators that live in Osceola County. The names are listed with addresses, a photograph and current charge(s). Because these individuals frequently move, I encourage you to log onto the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Web site at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/ for the most current information.  It is our hope that this guide will assist you and your family to become more aware of those who live around you. If you would like additional copies, please call us at 407-348-1105.
The Sheriff’s Office also provides a free and easy way to keep you informed about sex offenders and predators in our community.  If you are interested in knowing when sex offenders or predators move within a mile radius of your neighborhood or place of business, log onto our Web site at www.osceolasheriff.org and sign up for this email program.
As a parent, be vigilant in protecting your children. Know who lives in your neighborhood, know where your children are at all times and make them accountable for their whereabouts. This publication includes helpful information for parents about keeping children safe, fingerprinting, safety tips for children and how to report crimes.
By working together, we can make Osceola County a stronger and safer community.
Bob Hansell is the sheriff of Osceola County.
