The Osceola Kowboys continued their wrestling dominance by easily capturing the A.J. Jones Memorial Duals Saturday at the OHS gym.
Osceola defeated Timber Creek, 51-24, for the championship.
The Kowboys, 26-1 in duals matches, also beat Ridge Community (71-0), Frostproof (67-6), Melbourne (46-32) and Lakeland George Jenkins (54-27).
Harmony won eight matches to win the Jacksonville Terry Parker Duals Saturday. The Longhorns edged Creekside, 39-36, for the championship.
Osceola’s Gabe Bird (36-0), the 152-pound champion, remained unbeaten for the season at the Jones tournament.
Osceola’s Levi Clemons (37-1), third at the prestigious Powerade Christmas tournament at Pennsylvania last month and the defending 171-pound Class 3A champion, was among several Kowboys who were unbeaten at the Jones tournament.
Pete Baldwin (145), Tim Locksmith (119), Alex Rivera, Wade Ridings, Joe Locksmith and Trevor Darnell all were unbeaten.
Baldwin (35-1), a 2008 state champion, recorded his 252nd career victory at the tournament. He leads the Kowboys with 30 falls.
Bird, a champion at the Powerade tournament, has 241 career wins.
Daniel Adams (103), Alex Rivera (130), Wade Ridings (135) and Paul Zupofska (145) all recorded victories for the Kowboys. Ridings is 12-0.
Osceola travels to the Flagler-Palm Coast Rotary tournament Friday.
Harmony won the Terry Parker Duals despite the loss of senior Chris Valdez (119) to a knee injury Saturday.
“We were giving up 18 points before we even started a match,” Longhorns Coach Chris Todd said. “But our kids stayed resilient, they wrestled hard.”
Matt Vaughn (31-2), Joey Finneran (24-10), Chris Grillo (14-3), Alex Githens (22-7) and Ariel Dominguez (15-2) all were unbeaten (5-0) in matches Saturday. Vaughn, Grillo and Githens were 8-0 at the tournament.
The Longhorns wrestle  at Bishop Moore Jan. 23.
“Our kids were happy and enjoyed it, but they realized that they should not be satisfied with it. We moved forward starting  Monday,” Todd said.
The Longhorns defeated Cocoa Beach, 45-34, Tuesday on Senior Night.
Kissimmee seventh-grader Fox Baldwin, competing for Lake Highland Prep, won the 112-pound championship at the Lake Mary Tournament of Champions to boost his record to 42-2. Baldwin raised his career record to 104-10.
Celebration competed at Lake Mary, where Josh Douglas (119) and Curtis Temple (152) placed fourth.
Celebration defeated Lake Nona, 66-18, in a match last week as David Akin (103), Josh Douglas (119), Dkyler Lerner (130), Martin Rios (135), Sydney Vankijk (140), J.J., Francis (145), Temple (152), Xavier Martin (160), Travis Richards (189), Cameron Ward (215) and Bryan Leon (285) won.
The Storm  compete at Flagler-Palm Coast Friday.
Liberty goes to the Hagerty Duals Friday after competing at the Hawk Duals at Viera last week where Felix Betancourt (130), Victor Martinez (152) and J.J. Elisis (160) remained unbeaten. Elisis defeated Palm Bay’s Jeff Smith, ranked No. 4 in the state, said Coach Eric Scrivens.
Alex Torres (140), Sammy Diaz (heavy) and Angel Perez (215) all placed. Perez lost in overtime to Palm Bay’s top-ranked Chris Herron.
“We did pretty well, but got a little banged up. Nothing major,” Scrivens said.
