BABSON - Mrs. Betty   Wasson Babson, 74, of Kissimmee, passed away  on Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Osceola Regional Medical  Center. Betty was born in State College, Pennsylvania on December 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Elliott Glenn and Myrtle Ella (Smith) Wasson.
Mrs. Babson was a retired teacher.  Betty received her master's degree from the University of Southern Florida. She retired from the Pinellas County School System after 25 years of teaching math and music. A councilwoman on the Seminole Community Council, she was the first woman ever honored in a public ceremony for her work in getting playground equipment placed in Pinellas' county parks, road widening and bridges built on Seminole Blvd.  She was an accomplished musician who attended Interlochen Music Camp in Michigan. She most recently played in the Silver Clouds Orchestra in St. Cloud. She was the Good Sam Club's Florida State Editor and webmaster of the past 16 years.
She was the best wife in the world to her husband of 49 years and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an all-around "people-person” who loved helping out wherever she could.
She is survived by her loving family: husband, John E. Babson of Kissimmee; daughters, Jane Ella (wife of Clifford Owen Berkley) of Kissimmee and Beth Anne Babson of Canon City, CO; son, John Everett  Babson, Jr. of  Largo, FL; sisters, Mary (wife of Stuart Wright of AZ) and Roberta (wife of Robert Campbell of State College, PA); brothers, Samuel (husband of Rita Wasson) and Robert (husband of Carol Wasson, both of State College, PA);  grandchildren, Stefanie Alicia Berkley of Palm Bay, FL, Courtney  Janell Berkley of Kissimmee, FL and Sarah Rae Babson of Clearwater, FL.
A memorial service  will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the  St. Cloud Presbyterian Church, 909 10th St., St. Cloud. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the Silver Clouds Community Orchestra, c/o the St. Cloud Senior Center, 3101 17th St., St. Cloud, FL 34769.

BROGDON - Theresa Hermine Brodeur Brogdon, 80, of Kissimmee, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 at a local hospital with her family by her side.
She was born November 11, 1928 in Old Town, Maine and moved to Kissimmee in 1990 from Sarasota, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church,  Kissimmee.
Theresa is survived by her children: Ralph Brogdon of Orlando, Michael Brogdon of Kissimmee, Richard Brogdon of Kissimmee, Gary Brogdon of Orlando and Barbara Stokes of Orlando; her sister, Jeanne Boucher of Paris, Maine; six grandchildren: Robert Risley, Teresa Brogdon, Jason Stokes, Megan Stokes, Adam Brogdon and Timber Brogdon; one great granddaughter, Dana Hill; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Delia Brodeur, a brother, Alphonse and a sister, Imelda Comeau.
A Mass to Celebrate the Life of Theresa H. Brogdon was held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1603 N. Thacker Ave., Kissimmee, FL.

COTTOM - Robert Vance Cottom, CAPT, USN (RET) joined the church triumphant on September 13, 2009. Robert was born April 6, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, the 4th of 5 sons born to Glenn H. and Edna P Cottom.
The Cottoms moved to Miami, FL in the early 1940’s, where Robert attended Shenandoah Elementary, Shenandoah Jr High and Miami Senior High School. With the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, Robert joined the U.S Navy, advancing through the ranks until commissioned in 1960 and completed his military service upon retirement in 1983 as Captain. During his career, Robert graduated with a BA from University of Rhode Island in 1992, as well as the Naval War College in Newport, RI. He served on eight ships, commanding two. Ashore he served on the staff of Naval War College, Director of Surface Warfare Basic Course and Assitant Chief of Staff (N-2) of Chief of Naval Education and Training at Pensacola, FL. He and his wife, Alice, retired to Osceola County, Florida in 1983 where Robert taught 8th grade U.S. History at   St. Cloud Middle School for 9 years.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice Cottom of St. Cloud and their four daughters: Cathy McClure, St. Cloud, Barbara Swims, Kissimmee, Carolyn White, Greensboro, NC and Alice J Cottom, St. Cloud; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Robert was a member and elder of St. Cloud Presbyterian Chruch and a member of VFW Post 3227, St. Cloud, and American Legion Post 80, St Cloud.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM at Fisk Funeral Home, with service to be held at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow with full military    honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Programs of St. Cloud Presbyterian Church.

DELAHUNT - Franklin  Delahunt of Columbia, S.C. Born March 26, 1932, in St. Cloud, FL, Mr. Delahunt died September 15, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army for over 30 years and, in  addition to numerous other medals, was awarded the Korean Service Medal. Upon his retirement from the Army, Mr. Delahunt worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Dentsville Masonic Lodge. 
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Karin Esser Delahunt; children, Natasha Delahunt of Columbia, Carl Delahunt of Long Island, NY, Leslie Grey (Steve) of Cheshire, CT, Robin Zielinski of Suffield, CT; grandchildren, Skip Sneath, Madison and Kolby Zielinski.
A memorial service for Franklin Delahunt, 77, will be held at 4:00 PM Friday,  September 18, 2009, at Dunbar Funeral Home,  Devine Street Chapel. SNEDECOR - Jack. Memorial Services for Mr. Jack Snedecor, age 56, of Poinciana, who passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009 will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Osceola Memory Gardens, Funeral Home in Kissimmee with Chaplin Chet Hirschy officiating.
Jack was born in Inglewood, California and has lived in the Central Florida Area for many years. He graduated high school in 1970 in Johnston, Ohio and then from Hocking Technical College in 1975, with a degree in Horticuture.  He was a devoted employee for 17 years for McLane East, where he worked in the inventory control department.  Jack was an avid golfer and he loved the outdoors and wildlife.
He is survived by his mother, Audrey E. Snedecor of Ohio; sister, Tamara A. Fletcher of Ohio; brother, Joe Snedecor of Kansas;  niece, Tammy Jessup of Colorado; nephews, Mike Snedecor of Kansas and Joe Fletcher of Ohio.
