LANGSTON - Alan “Grant” Langston, 57, died Monday, March 2, 2009 of cancer, surrounded by his family at home.
He was born in Kissimmee, Florida on September 8, 1951 and was a life-long resident of Osceola County. Grant graduated from Osceola High School in 1971 and then served 6 years in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed working for Pyramid Masonry for the last 26 years, as well as all of the great friends he met through work. Grant loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and friend.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nancy (Kuhn) Langston; step-son Stephen Ackroyd. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Donna Langston; son, Kurt (Lori) Langston of Trezevant, TN; step-daughter, Tracy Ackroyd of Clermont, FL; brother, Kim Langston of Newport, TN; and 4 grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at the Eastern Avenue Baptist Church, St. Cloud. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee.
