WAINWRIGHT - Frida Laxton Wainwright , June 27, 1923 - January 28, 2009
Frida Wainwright was probably the epitome of a devoted volunteer, never passing up the opportunity to assist a neighbor or work in her church.
Preceding her in death, in 1994, was her loving husband Frank. For many years, the two of them were involved in a leadership capacity with the Boy Scouts of America and traveled with an RV Club throughout the United States and abroad. Due to Frank's health, they moved from Commack, NY, in 1974, and settled in Tarpon Springs where they became helping hands to everyone that needed them. They truly were a couple that did everything together and liked it that way.
Just prior to a stroke in 2005, Frida was presented and was extremely proud to receive a certificate for serving with Meals On Wheels for 25 years. However, that was just one of her missions. She also was available to drive neighbors to the doctors, assist in balancing their checkbook, picking up prescriptions or groceries, serving meals to those that needed help and for over 30 years, served as a volunteer in the Saint Timothy Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs. She would open the doors, turn on the lights and make sure that the temperature would be comfortable for all that entered to worship.  She personally took on the job of making labels for the members' mailboxes and was very precise in preparing the bulletins for each service.
Volunteerism was Frida's life and she lived it well. Frida, at the age of 85, passed away on January 28, 2009 due to declining health and complications of dementia. She had been living in Orange County.
Survivors of this remarkable woman that lived her convictions and compassion for others are: son Edward (Nancy), Kissimmee, Florida, son Frank (Karen), Centereach, New York and daughter Kathy (Jim) Batten, Suwanee, Georgia. She also leaves her love to her 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 AM January 31, 2009 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs.

She was preceded in death by her mother Rita l. Castagnoli in 2003. She is survived by her loving family: husband Joseph E. Windt; father, Nildo A. Castagnoli of Orlando; sons Michael Windt of New York City, NY, Joseph Windt of Brookfield, IL, Robert Windt (Lisa) of Whitewater, WI, Nicholas Modjeski (Stacey) and sister Barbara Miller (Gary) both of Orlando and 7 grandchildren.
