The St. Cloud Police Department is asking witnesses of a two vehicle traffic accident today just after 12:15 p.m. to come forward with any information.

At least one person is confirmed dead, according to Sgt. Denise Roberts., who added identification is pending next of kin notification.

Multiple injuries are reported from the traffic crash involving a silver Lincoln Towncar and a grey Hyundai Sonata at the intersection of 13th Street (U.S. Highway 192) and Old Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud.

Currently, 13th Street is closed at the above intersection for undetermined amount of time.

Alternative routes are as follows: 13th Street then north on Old Canoe Creek Road to 5th Street then east back onto 13th Street; or 13th Street then south on Old Canoe Creek Road to Neptune Road then east back onto 13th Street.

Officers are asking residents to avoid area due to heavy traffic.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the St. Cloud Police Department’s Traffic Unit at (407)-891-6700.

A traffic study of the intersection should be "forthcoming," Roberts said, as "there's definitely a need."
