Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested and charged a Poinciana man with armed burglary and sexual battery after he entered the victim’s home through an unlocked door.

Sheriff’s detectives arrested Lyndon DeLeon Scott, 20, of 741 Leonardo Court, Poinciana, on Tuesday and charged him with armed burglary, armed sexual battery, false imprisonment, battery and depriving a victim of 911. Scott was brought in for questioning and initially cooperated with detectives. He told them he entered the victim’s home but did not admit to the sexual battery. The victim was able to positively identify the suspect. Based on the information, Scott was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

On Jan. 14, at approximately 8:56 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Lucaya Drive in Poinciana. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who said at 7 a.m., an unknown black male, later identified as Scott, came to her door and continuously rang the doorbell.

The victim looked out the window and recognized Scott as someone who had previously come to her residence to request to use the telephone, Sheriff’s Office reports said. The victim did not answer the door but was frightened so, she hid in her residence. Scott allegedly entered her home through an unlocked back door and forced her to perform a sex act. Scott then left the home.
