A registered felon was arrested and charged with robbery on Thursday after grabbing a carton of cigarettes from a convenience store clerk.

On Thursday at about 1:29 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to 7-Eleven at 4400 S. Pleasant Hill Road in Kissimmee after receiving a robbery alarm call.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with an employee who said a black male, later identified as Kenyada Jacobs, 25, of 504 Imperial Drive, Kissimmee, entered the store and grabbed a carton of cigarettes from a cashier before leaving the area in a vehicle. The store employee was able to get a partial description of the vehicle and dispatchers located a car matching the description in a computer database and notified deputies of the residence.

Based on this information, deputies were waiting for Jacobs at his residence when he returned home.

Jacobs cooperated with the investigation and was charged with robbery by sudden snatching. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
