Thanks to a cold front that swept through the area Thursday night and early Friday morning, Central Florida including Osceola County are under a couple of weather watches and warnings.

The area is under a wind chill advisory through 9 a.m. on Saturday. Cold air and strong winds will combine to generate wind chills that could drop into the 20s overnight. The public is advised to dress warmly in layers, including a hat and gloves to protect exposed skin.

A lake wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening, as northwest winds are expected to reach 20 mph, with gusts of 30-35 mph late afternoon and into the evening. Winds will cause a rough chop on area lakes, making small craft and other boats prone to capsizing.

A red flag fire warning is also flying through 7 p.m. as those winds will combine with humidity values of 20 to 25 percent. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. A red flad warning is issued when very favorable conditions for the spread of wildfire.
