If you don’t mind the crowds and long lines, you can really get into that holiday mood at the theme parks in Central Florida

Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND and Busch Gardens in Tampa were geared up for the season even before Thanksgiving, and with Christmas just a few days away, there are bright lights and even snowflakes at the theme parks.

No one does the holidays quite like Walt Disney World, and there are special events at all four Disney parks, plus you can get in some last minute shopping at Downtown Disney, which is also all dressed up for the holidays.

Here is a quick look at Disney for the holidays.

Magic Kingdom

It is always magical at the Magic Kingdom at Christmas. Cinderella’s Castle is all decked out with 200,000 shimmering white lights, plus there is the Holiday Wishes nighttime show, Disney characters wearing their holiday finest and more.

Epcot

The Candle Processional is the main attraction here with seasonal music and a reading of the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a mass choir and 50-piece orchestra. The processional is held three times nightly through Dec. 30. Admission is included with Epcot ticket, but  guests can purchase a Candlelight Dining Package, which combines lunch or dinner at select Epcot restaurants with guaranteed seating for the Candlelight Processional and VIP viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.  For more information and reservations: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/candlelight-dinners/

Holidays Around the World: Storytellers from around the world share traditions and lore from their homeland throughout World Showcase.  The merriment continues with meet and greets with Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus the nightly “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” laser, light, fireworks display capped with a seasonal finale.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights: This massive seasonal display features millions of dancing lights, plus animated displays and 3-D effects perfectly synchronized to electrifying holiday tunes amidst snowfall.  The rich tradition takes place on the Streets of America, dazzling guests through Jan. 6, 2013.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Celebrate safari style as Disney’s Animal Kingdom with traditional holiday music with a world beat twist during the daily “Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade.”

Downtown Disney

Finish your  shopping at Downtown Disney during Festival of the Seasons. The shopping mecca is draped with yuletide cheer, plus live entertainment, holiday carolers, a lively street party, plus photo ops with Santa and Santa Goofy.

Both Universal Orlando Resort Parks also offer lots of holiday happenings.

Islands of Adventure

At Universal’s Islands of Adventure guests will be filled with holiday cheer as Grinchmas comes to life throughout Seuss Landing.  They can watch the live show, “Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular,” featuring The Grinch and the Whos from Who-ville, accompanied by an original musical score by Mannheim Steamroller.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios Florida, the Macy’s Holiday Parade will fill the streets every evening with the same larger-than-life balloons seen in the famous New York City parade.  This year, the parade includes all-new Nutcracker and Mouse King “trycaloons” – tandem tricycles that appear to be pedaled by whimsical balloon characters from the popular holiday tale.  Guests will also enjoy colorful holiday characters, fantasy-filled floats and a tree-lighting ceremony by Santa Claus.

And Christmas music sensation, Mannheim Steamroller, will return this year with more performances than ever before.  The acclaimed musical group will perform their memorable holiday hits this weekend at the Music Plaza stage at Universal Studios.
