Equipping children with the skills they need to safely navigate the Internet is the subject of a 30-minute talk show that will air on Radio Disney Saturday, Jan. 5, featuring two internet experts from Kissimmee Utility Authority.

The show, recorded on Dec. 12, features Radio Disney kidcasters Noah and Sami interviewing KUA’s vice president of information technology Jef Gray and telecom services manager Terry Farley as part of the utility’s ongoing community outreach.

The segment addresses topics like cyberbullying, the use of webcams and instant messaging, online filtering software and parental control programs, and the safe use of social network sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. The program also provides important information on the use of passwords and the protection of personal information.

“The internet is an increasingly important place for children to learn, work and play,” said Gray. “You can help your child avoid online encounters with predators, hackers and others who would exploit children and their personal information by establishing rules for internet use, and making sure the rules are enforced.”

The interview is part of Radio Disney’s weekly Kids’ Concerns Show that airs in Central Florida on Saturdays at 6:30 a.m. on WDYZ AM 990.
