Poinciana’s Brandii Walker scored her 1,000th career point Monday during a 61-53 win over East Ridge.

Walker, a senior, scored 24 points for the Eagles. Geraldine Navarro added 16 for the Lady Eagles, who are 9-1 overall and 5-0 against 7A District 5 competition.

Walker recently signed a basketball grant during the early signing period to Southern University, along with Eagles center Tralonnie Tisdale.

Poinciana, which has won six in a row, travels to Osceola Monday at 6 p.m. for a district contest that is a rematch of the Lady Eagles 58-57 win over OHS Nov. 16.

Osceola has won six straight since a Thanksgiving tournament loss to Boone and brings a 9-2 record, 4-1 in the district, to Monday’s game.

The Lady Eagles host Harmony, 4-2, Tuesday at 6 p.m. for an Orange Belt Conference showdown.

Harmony and Osceola are the co-defending OBC champions.
