Baby boomers have a new channel to call their own.

Bright House Networks subscribers now are able to receive RLTV, a new channel that offers a wide range of programming  aimed at the 50-plus audience.

Programming focus incudes  health and wellness, relationships, transformation, exploration, finance and political and public policy issues.  RLTV is available locally to Bright House Networks Digital TV customers on Channel 203.

“Viewers who are 50+ are seeking programming that reflects their lives and relates to their interests,” said RLTV Senior Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Corporate Development Patrick Baldwin in a press release. “We thank Bright House Networks for its support and are delighted that we can help them deliver relevant programming to this vital audience.”

Generation 50+, the audience RLTV serves, is 100 million strong, including 80 million baby boomers, the last of whom turn 50 in 2014. RLTV’s original programming includes:

•Money Matters with Jean Chatzky, in which personal finance expert and Today Show finance editor Jean Chatzky offers relatable advice on how to manage money in today’s complex economic environment;

•Good Food, Good Deeds, the groundbreaking series hosted by Florence Henderson and produced in relationship with the Meals on Wheels Association of America that combines the excitement of a cook-off with the life-saving mission of one of America’s most extraordinary philanthropic organizations; and

•Fix America, a series of specials that addresses and helps to reshape critical issues facing Americans today, such as the debt and the deficit, senior hunger, and education.

•Home Again with Bob Vila, a new syndicated version by one of America’s favorite home improvement experts. Vila has brought professional, cost-conscious, and often entertaining advice to do-it-yourselfers. Now with his own nationally-syndicated show on commercial television, Bob Vila’s Home Again, Bob tackles a wide variety of projects around the nation, always with an eagle eye on the budget.

•Healthline. The award winning Healthline series gives viewers a daily dose of what they need to take control of their health care concerns. Hosted by Kevin J. Soden, M.D., author of The Art of Medicine: What Every Doctor and Patient Should Know, Healthline offers viewers a first-hand look at the illnesses and concerns we all face as we get older. Patients share their personal health care experiences along with leading medical experts who offer tips for viewers to become better advocates for themselves. Whether it’s chronic, cosmetic, or just confusing, medical issues are tempered with wisdom humility and humor. In a world full of medical questions, Healthline is the answer to what ails you.

•Taking Care with Joan Lunden is a groundbreaking, courageous four-part series examining the growing concerns over caregiving. RLTV knows that 80% of the burden of caregiving rests with families of the affected: the series focuses as much on the caregivers as the care recipients. The show explores options and strategies, and provides resources and information to help this challenging life stage.

•A Taste of History is a TV cooking series that explores America’s culinary beginnings from the Birthplace of American Cuisine. This innovative series brings America’s history to life by profiling historic destinations, founding fathers and historic recipes.

•The Victory Garden. The Victory Garden, with its 30-year history, is the longest-running gardening show on TV. The Victory Garden features interviews with top gardening professionals, provides practical advice, design tips, and even recipes to help you get the most from your garden. Find out about the latest and greatest in gardening tools, soil, pest control and much more. The Victory Garden showcases floral gardens from around the world to inspire you to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty! Explore the possibilities and learn how your garden can become a primary source for fresh fruits and vegetables that will make earth-to-table cooking a reality for you. The Victory Garden and The Victory Garden logo are trademarks of WGBH Educational Foundation.

•What’s Next. For baby boomers entering the second half of life, discovering what’s next can be a daunting challenge… unless you have a team of experts in your corner. Traveling the nation in a tricked-out RV, What’s Next? finds people who are uneasy about the transition from work to retirement and gives them a makeover from the inside out.
