Santa Claus is coming to town after the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) accepted the jolly old elf’s bus driver application for the 15th consecutive year.

From Nov. 26 to Dec. 21, Kris Kringle will drive various routes throughout the Central Florida area, including in Osceola County, until his “other job” takes him away.

On. Nov. 27, Santa will drive route 57, which travels from Washington Shores SuperStop at 9 a.m. to the Osceola Square Mall at 9:54 a.m., and route 18, which travels from the Osceola Square Mall at 10:49 a.m. to LYNX Central Station at 12:30 p.m.

On Nov. 28, Santa will drive routes 426, 26, 55, 56 and 4, all of which have stops in Osceola County, from 7:15 a.m. at the Poinciana Walmart to Osceola Square mall at 1:15 p.m.

Santa will travel to the St. Cloud Walmart Nov. 29 at 7:53 a.m. on route 10 with a stop at the Osceola Square Mall at 9:15 a.m. That day he will again drive route 57.

Additional routes are planned until Dec. 21.

Riders lucky enough to find Santa driving their route will ride the bus for free, LYNX spokesman Matthew Friedman said.

Additionally, on Dec. 20, Santa will take a break from driving buses to take photos and hear Christmas lists from “nice” boys and girls at the LYNX Central Station Terminal, 455 N. Garland Ave. in Orlando, from 2-6 p.m. according to a Lynx press release.

Families will need to provide their own cameras and LYNX volunteers will be able to assist with photography, if needed.

LYNX also will be offering a daily weekday raffle for 30-day bus passes from Dec. 3-20 as part of their loyalty program.
