Lake Nona edged Gateway, 21-12, at the Hope Bowl Thursday at Lake Nona.

Lake Nona quarterback Tucker Israel, a sophomore, broke his own Central Florida touchdown with two TD passes, bringing his season total to 37.

Zach Smith ran for two touchdowns for the Panthers, who finished the season 7-4. Gateway had a touchdown reception by Theo Belhomme called back by a penalty. The Panthers also fumbled at the Lions' 1-yard line in the fourth quarter to thwart a comeback.

Lake Nona, 8-3, led 14-12 at the half.
