Using an online advertising website, detectives made contact with Rani Sabrina Shields, 20, of New Port Richey, arranged to meet her at the Holiday Inn located at 5711 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. When the undercover detective arrived, he met with Shields in the room.

In the room was Carey Jerome Thomas, 22, of Tampa, who told the detective he was there to protect Shields. Shields told detectives she worked for Thomas, according to police.

Shields was arrested and charged with prostitution and was booked into the Osceola County Jail on $500 bond. Thomas was charged with deriving support from prostitution, renting space to be used for prostitution and forcing or coercing another to become a prostitute. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail on $2,500 bond.
