On Saturday, the community of Solivita is honoring active duty troops and their families to a complimentary mini-vacation. On this second Salute our Veterans event, celebrate with them. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a live band featuring music from the 1950’s to 1970’s. Other entertainment as well as bounce houses for the kids will be there. Food and family fun and a special flag raising ceremony will round out this veteran’s tribute. For more information on Salute our Veterans, call 877-489-9804.
Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11. Take a moment to thank a veteran.

Relay For Life of Poinciana/Kissimmee South is proud to announce its 2013 Kick Off Party on Monday, Nov. 26. The party will take place at 6:30 p.m., Poinciana Community Center, 395 Marigold Ave.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s premier fundraising event.  Over 4 million people take part in this global mission and raise much needed money and awareness to save lives from cancer. Relay is an organized overnight community fundraising walk. Teams of people will camp out around the track at Liberty High School and members of each team take turns walking.
Food, games and entertainment make this event so much fun. Register a Relay team by recruiting people from work, friends, church or civic groups. Each team is asked to bring $100 to register, and start planning your team involvement the night of Nov. 26 at the Kick-Off Party.
