Florida Christian College begins its National Christian College Athletic Association mens basketball season today when it hosts Mid-Atlantic Christian at 7 p.m.

The Suns, under Coach Jake Deer, reached the NCCAA D-II national tournament for the first time last season after clinching the South Region championship.

The Suns are led by point guard Montigue Lynch and small forward A.J. Williams along with senior center Alex Wierda.

Kaleb Baker, a 6-7 power forward, is one of the promising newcomers.

The Suns opened the season Tuesday with an 83-79 win over Johnson and Wales as Lynch scored 26 points and added seven assists..

“I am truly excited to see what this team will become,” Deer said.
