Politicians

To the Editor:

I felt it was necessary to point out a few things as we are nearing the next election.

First - we have Peter Olivo running for yet another office.

Second - we have Armando Ramirez, also running, and running, and running, for anything he can get into.

I think it is fair to assume that these two men are not at all interested in serving the public, as politicians are supposed to, but rather just want to get onto the public dole, and collect yet another income !!

When a person runs for one office, loses, then runs for another, and loses, then runs and runs, etc., I must question their sincerity and their motives.

If these birds lose again, what will they run for next?  The only thing left is county dog catcher - and one of them will lose again.

We need politicians who are concerned about those who they represent. That is why this country was set up as a Constitutional, representative, republic.

But these guys don’t care about that.  All they care about is a paycheck.

Lets not forget just who Mr. Ramirez really is.  It was at his beckoning that the heavies came down from New York, and sued Osceola County in federal court, and took away our rights to vote for all the county commissioners.  Not just one.  This was done so the small group of radical Hispanics could get their own guy into office.  Well, they got John Quinones in, and guess what? Ramirez didn’t like him any more then he liked the “good ‘ol boys” before him.  Why ?  Because John Q., realized that he needed to be the commissioner for more then just Armando Ramirez.

Which brings me to my next point.  Law enforcement. I have lived in Osceola County through the terms of six sheriffs. I cannot, in my heart of hearts, say that any of these men before Bob Hansell, has done as fine a job as Bob has.  He would have to steal my dog for me not to vote for him again, and again.  A finer man does not exist.  A man that is well respected by his county, and his department.

Also, let me say a word about Commissioner Fred Hawkins. I have some “issues” around my home that I needed addressed.  Fred Hawkins came to my home, on a Saturday and talked to me about my concerns. He promised me that he would do what he could to make my situation better. Now, I am not saying what we discussed, and he has not had time to address these things because we just talked a few days ago, so this letter is not a pay back for his actions.  But I think that it is fair to point out that he took the time to come to me – meet with me – and hear my concerns, when he was on his family’s time.  Even if he cannot fix my concerns, at least I know, that he heard me, and tried to help me.  That is what a public servant does.  He tries to serve his people as best he can.

I want public servants like Sheriff Hansell, and Fred Hawkins, who listen, work for the people, and try to make Osceola County better for all of us. Not just a special interest group.
