Rotary Pancake breakfast, 5K run set

Enjoy a great pancake breakfast with all the fixings, help stop local hunger and get your exercise at an upcoming community event.
The Pancake Breakfast and 5K Run hosted by the Rotary Club of Kissimmee West will be on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8 to 11 a.m. Come to the Family Life Center at Trinity Lutheran Church & School, 3016 W. Vine St., Kissimmee.
Cost for pancakes, meat, juice and more will be $5. Tickets will be available at the door, or in advance from any Kissimmee West Rotarian. There will be displays and activities for all ages, including a bounce house, Gatorland exhibit, silent auction, the Central Florida Bloodmobile, and a “How to Prevent Cooking Fires” program by the Kissimmee Fire Department.
Registration for the 5K Run is 7 to 8 a.m. Cost is $20 in advance, $25 the morning of the run, including prizes, a T-shirt and breakfast. The run begins at 8 a.m. on a course around the 5-acre church campus.
All proceeds go to supply food for the Community Food Bank at the Osceola Council on Aging.
“They’re our favorite charity,” said club president Ian Miles. “We’ve provided the pantry over $10,000 in the past few years. We’d love to welcome others in the community as ‘sponsors’ of this event.”
