St. Cloud came to Harmony to collect the Orange Belt Conference volleyball championship trophy, but it went home empty-handed.

Riding a wave of momentum that began midway through the second game, Harmony swept its conference and district rival by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 21-6 to remain unbeaten in the conference (4-0).

St. Cloud, 6-1, which lost for the first time, completed its conference schedule with a 5-1 record. Harmony can clinch its third straight OBC crown by winning at OHS Sept. 26. and later against Gateway.

Harmony, 6-0, rolled off the final seven points in the first game Tuesday against St. Cloud, but the Bulldogs, behind Audrey Wentzell, Faith Udstad and Baylee Sullivan, led 21-20 in the second game before Harmony’s  Allison VanTassel, Chaney Howard and Kendall Pollock put down big hits off sets from Genesis Viera. Alexis Trowbridge, Adalyn Gaston and Pollock all made key serves as Harmony scored the last five points to win the game.

After tying the score at 4 in the third game, St. Cloud was unable to stem Harmony’s momentum in the final game as Pollock served the last 15 points.

Harmony will host 2011 state champion Melbourne Holy Trinity Academy Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. for a non-district match that will be televised by  Bright House Networks.

"It will be a good game for our girls to play, it should be a lot of fun," Harmony Coach Eric Trowbridge said.
