To those who didn’t vote

To the Editor:

Dear Editor,  We have reached in all time high for being worthless. Only 65 percent of us are registered  and of that figure 85 out of 100 were to stupid, lazy and ignorant to bother to vote. If you live in Osceola County you earn 10 percent less than if you live in Orange or Brevard.

We are 15 percent more likely to get food stamps and free school lunches. We are a holding pen for cheap service workers who care less about anything except having gas for their cars.

To you trash who were too busy to vote early, vote absentee or show up for a twelve hour voting period, your kids must be really proud of you and your forefathers who slugged it out in battlefields from Bunker Hill to Khe Sah must be throwing up in their flag decorated graves.

Institutions of governance

To the editor:

On April 20, 1653, Oliver Cromwell dissolved the English Parliament and sent its members packing. His words are as true today as they were then.

“ ...Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government... Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man among you that has the least care for the good of the commonwealth? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. Ye were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance... In the name of God, Go!”

So we are left with the question. What are we to do with our institutions of governance when they no longer serve the people?
