The fifth Annual Ranch Rodeo State Finals Sept-28-29  will feature saddle bronc riding, colt riding, wild cow milking, calf branding, team doctoring, double mugging, team sorting and the relay race.

Sixteen ranching teams from across the state are vying for the 2012 championship title during a two night rodeo performance, as well as a daylong celebration of ranching and Florida’s heritage in Kissimmee, Sept. 28-29.
The fifth Annual Ranch Rodeo State Finals will start at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday inside the Silver Spurs Arena.  The rodeo will feature saddle bronc riding, colt riding, wild cow milking, calf branding, team doctoring, double mugging, team sorting and the relay race.
All 16 teams had to pre-qualify for the state championship event by winning a regional rodeo.  Each team will consist of four men and one woman. The cowboys and cowgirls will showcase their daily ranching skills during the competition for awards, prizes and bragging rights. Admission into the Ranch Rodeo is $10 per person, ages 10 and under are free.
On Saturday, the Cowboy Heritage Festival will begin at 10 am, just outside the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park.  The event will highlight Florida’s history through displays, as well as unique cowboy art.  The festival will also feature performers and live actors within the exhibits showcasing the cowboy and ranching way of life.
There also is a cook-off. Cookers will specialize in swamp cabbage and beef brisket. A People’s Choice award will be awarded for winner in each category.
