The $2,041 grant will be used to assist St. Cloud Fire Rescue personnel in fire prevention activities within the community.

St. Cloud Fire Rescue received a $2,041 fire prevention grant Aug. 7 at Fire Station 31 from FM Global, a commercial property insurer that supports organizations working to combat fires.
“Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of St. Cloud,” said St. Cloud Fire Rescue Chief Bill Johnston. “We provide a high level of service 24/7 and grants such as this one assist us tremendously in providing fire prevention education to our citizens. We are very grateful for the support of FM Global.”
Fire continues to be the leading cause of commercial and industrial property damage worldwide. Therefore, FM Global has contributed millions of dollars for more than three decades to fire services and related agencies around the globe working to prevent fire.
“At FM Global, we believe the majority of property damage is preventable - not inevitable - and we are pleased to make funding available to organizations like St. Cloud Fire Rescue that share the same philosophy,” said Michael Spaziani, manager of the FM Global Fire Prevention Grant Program. “Inadequate budgets may prevent some organizations from being as proactive as they would like to be. With additional financial support, grant recipients are actively helping to improve property risk in the communities they serve.”
FM Global grants are awarded to those who best demonstrate a need for funding, where dollars can have the greatest impact on preventing, preparing for and controlling fire in the community.
