A pair of Kissimmee teens were arrested and charged with stealing an automobile and leading pursuing police on a chase that ended in a crash.

 

The investigation began Monday before 9:30 a.m. when deputies responded to 338 Sherborne Lane in Kissimmee.

 

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, deputies spoke with a witness at the home who indicated two juveniles, later identified as Wesley Mesilien, 318 Sherborne Lane, Kissimmee and Kareen Carson Carter, 404 Francisco Way, Poinciana, both 17, entered the residence then left the area in a blue Suzuki Forenza, which belonged to the homeowner and was parked in the driveway. When deputies entered the residence, they discovered several items missing including televisions and electronic equipment.

Deputies, with the assistance of Aviation and K-9 Units, searched the area and located the vehicle traveling westbound on Cypress Parkway. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle increased speed. The juveniles crashed into another vehicle before stopping. No one was injured during the incident. Carter and Mesilien were taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Detention Center.

Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged the two with unoccupied burglary, grand theft auto, aggravated fleeing and eluding, grand theft and criminal mischief. In addition to felony charges, Carter was cited for the car accident.
