The main traffic artery through St. Cloud was shut down in both directions after a three-car pile-up this morning.

U.S. Highway 192, known as 13th Street in St. Cloud, reopened at 3 p.m. after both east and westbound lanes near the intersection of 13th Street and New York Avenue were closed as the St. Cloud Police Department investigates the crash, police spokesman Chad Durham said.

Traffic was being diverted one block north and south to get around the closure.

Officers from the St. Cloud Police Department and the St. Cloud Fire Rescue responded just before 10:30 a.m. to the intersection in reference to the accident involving a pick-up truck, a gold Mercury Grand Marquis and an Isuzu.

Two occupants from the Grand Marquis were airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. They have since been upgraded to stable condition, Durham said.

Two occupants from a separate vehicle were taken by ground transportation to the St. Cloud Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. They are listed in stable condition and are being treated for minor injuries.

Charges are pending following an investigation.
