Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested and charged a a Kissimmee woman with armed home invasion Sunday, after she allegedly robbed a victim in a home at knifepoint, authorities said.

 

The investigation began on Sundayat approximately 6:50 a.m., when deputies responded to a Central Avenue home in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who said he was sleeping in his bedroom when he woke up with an unknown female, later identified as Maria DeJesus Acevedo, 28, of 2323 E. U.S, Highway 192, standing over him. She allegedly was armed with a knife and demanded money. The victim gave her an undisclosed amount of money and Acevedo allegedly left the residence with the money and the victim's laptop, Sheriff's Office reports said. Additional patrol units, aviation and K-9 units assisted in the search for the suspect.

A short time later, detectives located Acevedo at a Monument Avenue home in Kissimmee. Acevedo was arrested and charged with armed home invasion, aggravated assault and grand theft and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
