Two weeks before Cody White and an accomplice allegedly gunned down a homeowner on Lake Lizzie Drive and shot another man in the head, White allegedly helped rob and attack a St. Cloud convenience store clerk.

White, 19, who is currently held without bond in the Osceola County Jail on murder and robbery charges, was charged Thursday with robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony and grand theft in connection with a March robbery of the Kwik Stop, 719 13th St. in St. Cloud.

Wearing red bandanas over their faces and baggy clothing, White and another man confronted the clerk March 5 just before 9:45 p.m. at the Kwik Stop, according to police. White pointed the gun at the clerk and jumped the counter while his accomplice, whom police need the public's help identifying, punched the clerk repeatedly in the head to keep him cornered and near White, according to video surveillance recorded by the store.

In the video, White appears to have a white glove on his left hand and no glove on his right hand, the one holding the pistol.

Both suspects appear in the video to force the clerk to open the register. White was observed touching several bags behind the counter before selecting one for the clerk to fill with money.

Detectives were able to connect White to the crime by his fingerprints on the bags, according to the report.

Two male witnesses told police White pointed the gun at them as they attempted to enter the store. One witness told police he feared he was going to be shot in the face.

White and his accomplice dropped cigarette cartons, a money bag and a cardboard box containing several bags of synthetic marijuana known as K2 in the parking lot as the fled toward Michigan Avenue, according to the report.

The store's owner estimated the value of the cigarette cartons stolen at $60 and each packet of K2 at $20.

The store clerk was transported to St. Cloud Regional Medical Center for lacerations near his left eye and on his forehead. He told police he feared White was going to kill him.

The second suspect, whom police are still looking for, was described as 5 foot 9 inches tall and between 160 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black gloves during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 407-891-6700 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property, guns and/or drugs are eligible for cash rewards up to $5,000.

White is currently incarcerated for his role in the March 22 murder of homeowner Anita Smith, 59, in the backyard of her home at 5625 Lake Lizzie Drive.

White and David Eugene Smith, 20, are accused of planning to rob Patrick Bacon, of Orlando, of his drugs and money when the trio met in Anita Smith's backyard around 2:20 a.m. for a deal. Bacon was shot in the head during the incident and Anita Smith, who is of no relation to David Smith, was shot in the head and killed when she confronted them.

White and David Smith's girlfriends, Kaitlyn Robare and Brandy Taylor, respectively, are charged with accessory for allegedly knowing their boyfriends planned to rob Bacon and for picking the pair up after the murder.
