A Kissimmee pastor arrested in May for allegedly molesting a juvenile parishioner and recently wanted by the Kissimmee Police Department for defrauding another parishioner turned himself in Friday.

Templo Pentecostal Church pastor Angel D. Perez-Nieves is accused of collecting personal information at the Kissimmee church from parishioners for the purpose of “state reporting” and using the data to open accounts in the victim's name.

He turned himself in at the Osceola County Jail at about 5 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

According to police, the female victim received a telephone call May 22 from Devcon Alarm Company about the alarm contract for the church. The company told the victim that the payments for the alarm are past due and that her credit score was in jeopardy. The victim was confused due to the fact she did not give anyone permission to open an account with her information.

Detectives obtained a subpoena June 15 from the State Attorney’s Office requesting all documentation from Devcon Alarm Company in reference to the account from the church at 2244 W. Columbia Avenue in Kissimmee.

The detectives received the installation and monitoring contract for the location. The contract had the victim’s name printed on the bottom of the form along with Perez-Nieves’ printed name and signature next to the victim’s name. Both signatures, the victim’s and Perez-Nieves’, were similar, police said.

Detectives showed the victim the contract and the victim confirmed she never signed the form and did not give Perez-Nieves permission to open an account using her personal information.

“The Kissimmee Police Department has asked the Osceola County Department of Corrections to review the events surrounding Perez-Nieves and the failure to locate the active warrant,” Miller said.

“This is the only victim we know of at this time,” spokeswoman Stacie Miller said, adding other parishioners who may have given Perez-Nieves their personal information should contact the Kissimmee Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit at 407-846-3333.

Kissimmee police detectives Wednesday obtained an arrest warrant for Perez-Nieves, 45, for fraudulent use of personal information. He attempted to turn himself in Thursday at the Osceola County Jail but for an unknown reason, jail officials were unable to locate the active warrant, Miller said.

Once police confirmed the warrant was entered Wednesday into the local, state and national crime computer system, they contacted Perez-Nieves attorney to advise a valid warrant exists.

Perez-Nieves already is on bond from the prior sexual battery charge in May where a 16-year-old boy, who told police he considered the pastor a “father figure”, accused the pastor of performing oral sex on the juvenile as the boy attended a sleepover at Perez-Nieves' home.

Kissimmee police on May 10 arrested Perez-Nieves and charged him with unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.

Perez was booked into the Osceola County Jail on no bond.  However, he was given a $3,000 bond by a judge and bonded out of jail May 18, Osceola County spokesman Larry Krause said.

Perez is prohibited from contact with anyone under the age of 18 without a parent or guardian present, a stipulation of his bond, according to court records.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been victimized sexually by Perez or has knowledge of other victims to contact the Kissimmee Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit at 407-846-3333, by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
