Osceola High guard Jasmine Ramos stamped herself as a player to watch after an impressive performance at the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches Futures Shootout showcase Thursday at Lake Mary Prep.

Ramos, a rising senior playing for the White team, scored 15 points, dished out 11 assists and had six rebounds.

The White team, coached by OHS coach Barner Cooks, lost to the Blue team, 70-62.

Osceola rising junior Montana Bass scored three points for the White team.

DeLand’s Tyisha Moore led all scorers with 16 points.

“I think Osceola County was well represented by our two selections,” Cooks said. “Both of our representatives played great. Jazz Ramos showed me that she is an an elite player.”

The Blue team was led by Treasure Coast’s Rose Julien with 14 points.

Schools representing the White team at the game included Gulf Coast, Lake Nona, DeLand, Osceola and Lake Wales.

Schools representing the Blue team were Haines City, Dixie Hollins, Treasure Coast and Lincoln Park.

Many of the participants played at the state tournament.

“I was very impressed with the amount of talent that played in the game, and how hard they played,” Cooks said.

Osceola reached the regional quarterfinal round last season under Cooks before the Lady Kowboys lost to regional finalist Harmony.
