At a press conference Friday, the Ninth Circuit State Attorney will announce a collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to announce a new, multi-agency cold case homicide investigative team.

The Joint Homicide Investigative Team will work current and cold case homicides in Orange and Osceola Counties. The JHIT’s intent is to coordinate the approach in municipal law enforcement for common training and support, as well as the pooling of investigation and administration resources.

Member agencies, which include the Kissimmee and St. Cloud Police Departments along with other Orange County municipal departments, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the State Attorney Ninth Judicial Circuit, will combine efforts to form an efficient cooperative use of powers and resources, enabling a higher level of service to the public.

The press conference will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ninth Circuit State Attorney’s office, 415 N. Orange Ave., Building B. A question-and-answer period follows the conference.
