RitaBassBASS - Rita Marie Bass, 58 of Palm Bay, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was born in Melbourne, Florida and moved to Palm Bay from Kissimmee in 1992. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lock Haven Baptist Church.
Rita is survived by her husband of 43 years, John L. Bass of Palm Bay, FL; son: Johnny Wade Bass of Kissimmee, FL; daughter: Shannon M. Crawford of St. Cloud, FL; brother: Artie Warren of Melbourne, FL; sisters: Debbie Mitchell of Melbourne, FL, Terry Chapman of Melbourne, FL, Kaye DeLorme of Ocala, FL, Jody Harvey of St. Cloud, Fl; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The Bass family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Narcoossee Baptist Church, Narcoossee, FL. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Narcoossee Baptist Church, Narcoossee, FL. Interment will follow at Mt. Peace Cemetery, St. Cloud, Florida.

BELL - Robert Lee "Rob" Bell, Jr., age 45, left his earthly home on May 16, 2012. He was the loving son of Estelle "Chris" Verducci who pre-deceased him in September 2009. Rob was a long time resident of the Kissimmee and Orlando Area. He graduated from Osceola High School with the class of 1984. He was employed for many years with Brighthouse Cable and most recently with Central Florida Cable in Kissimmee.
Rob is survived by his two aunts: Shelby Harwell of Kannapolis, NC and Carol Horasian of San Diego, CA; two uncles; Troy Christy and Leonard Christy both of Pennsylvania; step-sister: Susan Watson of Crystal River, FL; He also is survived by many wonderful friends in Orlando and Kissimmee. Memorial may be made to the Robert Lee Bell Memorial Fund.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee, Florida.

CROFT - Mrs. Mamie Alderman Croft, age 88 passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 in Valdosta, Georgia.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home Kissimmee Chapel, with burial to follow in Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Croft was born and raised in Berlin, Georgia.
Her parents were John Clinton Alderman and Eadie Annis Boyd.  She was married to Charlie B. Croft and they moved to Kissimmee in 1942.  She worked for the Osceola County School System Cafeteria as a baker.  She also worked for Esper Products in Kissimmee.  At home she was a very good cook, seamstress and flower gardener raising four children of her own.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kissimmee.  She moved to Madison, Florida in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Croft in 1997.  She is survived by 3 sons, Gilbert (Betty) Croft of Orlando, Clinton (Janice) Croft of Madison, and Charles (Nell) Croft of Lee, Florida, a daughter, Carolyn (John) Croft Jennings of Ballinger, Texas, brother, Walter Alderman and sister, Bertha Taylor both of Kissimmee, 8 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.  Services under the direction of Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Funeral Home, and Crematory 1717 Old Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, Florida.

 

Marie_DAmicoD'AMICO - Marie G. D’Amico, age 83, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away peacefully in the care of hospice on Monday, May 21, 2012. Born on October 9, 1928 in Niagara Falls, New York, she was a 1946 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She had lived in Niagara Falls, NY; Toms River, NJ; Virginia Beach, VA; and Orlando, FL before moving to Kissimmee in 1982.
A lifelong homemaker, Marie was a member of the Orlando Navy Wives Club of America and the Osceola Council on Aging. She was an avid supporter of the Kissimmee/St. Cloud Senior Games and was a 2003 graduate of Leadership Osceola. Marie also enjoyed playing Bingo, Mahjong, and Bridge.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, John A. D’Amico; her parents, James and Rose DeVita; her sister, Elizabeth Buckley; and her aunt, Carmela Bongiovanni. Survivors include her sons, Ronald D’Amico and Richard D’Amico, both of Kissimmee, FL; her daughter and son-in-law, Roslyn and James Koczan of Deltona, FL; her grandson, Christopher Koczan of Oviedo, FL; her brother, Alphonse DeVita of Venice, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A private mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Tim LaBo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice, 149 S. Ridgewood Ave., Suite 600, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. In the memo portion of your check, please indicate, “In Memory of Marie D’Amico.”

TERRELL - Edna Fern Terrell, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 13, 2012 in North Salt Lake, Utah at the home of her daughter Fernetta Runyon after a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.  Edna was a loving care giver all her life, and will be sorely missed by her family which she loved, guided, and cared for. She was a woman to never forget and a perfect example of the proverbial woman.
Edna was born to Harry and Emma Johnson on January 29, 1924 in Enfield, Illinois. She married Hurtis Delmar Terrell on March 3, 1940. They lived 40 years in Central Illinois where they raised 6 children and 2 foster children.  Edna was the foundation of her family. She helped nurse both her mother and her sister the final days of their lives as they battled breast cancer. In 1980 Edna and Hurtis moved to Kissimmee, Florida in order to improve Hurtis’ health. When she was not nursing the people she loved, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and keeping up with her ever growing family.
After suffering a stroke, Edna moved to her daughter’s home in North Salt Lake, Utah and was surrounded by family who were able to love and nurse her the final years of her life.  In Utah she enjoyed receiving company, especially from the babies, and all the men in her life.  Even though Edna could not express herself after her stroke, she blessed everyone with her smile and her laughter.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Fernetta (Jim) Runyon of North Salt Lake, UT, Cheryl (Dennis) Hobbs of Alhambra, IL, and Brenda Price of Kissimmee, FL; her sons, Wayne (Pat) Terrell of Troy, IL, Richard (Debbie) Terrell of Hephzibah, GA, Steven Terrell of Kissimmee, FL, and Carlos (Kim) Arzuagas of Bunker Hill, IL; and one sister, Darlene Farmer of Edwardsville, IL.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Hurtis Terrell; her parents; her sisters Annabelle Schriefer and Frieda Mayberry; her brothers Harold Johnson and Arthur Johnson; her daughter Bernice Boss; her granddaughter Jamie; her grandsons Stephen, Michael, Darren, Kenny, and Matthew; and her great-granddaughters Andrea and Michelle.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow Rose Hill Cemetery.

Wood001WOOD - John E. Wood, 66 of St. Cloud, FL passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was born in New Britain, CT the son of Charles Edgar Wood and Priscilla Catherine Harris Wood, he moved to St. Cloud, FL in 1986 from New Britain. John was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country with honor during the Viet Nam Era while stationed in Morocco. An over the road trucker for many years, he also worked for an excavating company in the Orlando area before his retirement. John was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
John belonged to the St. Cloud Garden Club for more than twenty years. His favorite pastimes were doing crosswords in ink, Suduko and other mind challenging puzzles. Most of all, the time spent with his wife Marion. John will be greatly missed by all that knew him for those many years or by new acquaintances whom he shared short conversations. John was a great, loving, kind, generous person the world has lost. May God bless you John- you will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his wife Marion of St. Cloud, FL; sisters: Elizabeth Mills of St. Cloud, FL, Joy Stregowski of Terryville, CT; sister-in-law: Paula Poirier (Kenneth) of Bath, NH, several nieces and nephews and two grand nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home with a Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1603 N. Thacker Avenue, Kissimmee. John will be laid to rest at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kissimmee where he will receive Military Honors.
