It took about two months for the Life Christian Lions to learn how to win a football game, but when they did, they made the most of it.

The Lions, 3-7, beat Central Florida Christian, 44-6, Friday to complete their inaugural 11-man football season on a three-game winning streak.

Quarterback Najeem Hosein ran for four touchdowns and passed to Leo Nunez for another. Antonio Smith and Ulises Salinas also ran for touchdowns as the Lions jumped to a 24-0 halftime lead.

Kevin Calderon, Victor Ruiz and Hosein all had interceptions.

Coach Michael Bonneville said his team made strides this season.

“We just kept working on fundamentals, faith and our team goals,” he said. “They all are first-year players.”
