St. Cloud’s girls will be favorites at the 3A-5 district cross country meet today at 9 a.m. at Harmony High.

The Lady Bulldogs are ranked No. 5 in Class 3A and scored a perfect 15 points at the Orange Belt Conference meet.

Other county schools competing are Celebration, Osceola and the host Longhorns.

Celebration’s Quincy O’Connor will be one of the favorites to win the individual boys championship.

Liberty and Gateway travel to West Orange High today for the 4A-3 regional, which begins at 8 a.m.

Liberty’s boys, the conference champs, must place among the top four teams to advance to the regionals.

“We should be OK, but there are some really strong teams in our district,” Coach Robert Pauley said.

Poinciana competed at the 2A-8 meet at Lakeland Tenoroc Thursday.

City of Life Academy and New Dimensions runs at the A-7 meet at Mount Dora Bible today at 9 p.m.

The top four or six teams, depending on how many teams are in the district, advance to the regionals next week.

Runners who place among the top 20 also advance.
